I’m not saying these entries are in any way tedious, but I will say that the days go by so incredibly quickly that I feel as though maybe I’m not prioritizing my days well enough to make me feel as though I am giving this my best. So that’s something I intend to work on. Today was my first full day with a dumb phone and it’s not so bad! It’s certainly something I will have to acclimate myself to though. I left the house today with my new S22 CAT Flip phone and realized when I got to the grocery store that I keep my credit card and ID in the back of my iPhone which obviously I didn’t have on me, ha!
Why downgrade, you ask? It’s simply not simple. I think the main reason is I am just sick of being on my phone so much. Now, I have no reason to be on my phone unless I need to call someone to tell them something or listen to music. Which means one day I will fill those moments I am getting back with productivity. The super paranoid reason is so that my data isn’t sold for targeted ads and so my location can be kept confidential. Another reason is just to be more present and sleep better at night, but I think the most health related reason would be due to the EMF radiation. Exposure to electric and magnetic fields is just another variable which can cause symptoms including fatigue, tiredness, concentration difficulties, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitation, and digestive disturbances. All of these are issues I am personally dealing with, so why wouldn’t I just do everything possible to remove the variable? My phone is 4G (since cell towers no longer support 3G cell phones) and I have Spotify downloaded so that I can listen to music at the gym, as well as my email… I guess in case I receive anything important that requires immediate attention, and I have maybe thirty contacts added at the moment. None of my info or data from my iPhone has been transferred to the dumb phone. I can start fresh.
It’s tough to remove all EMFs from your life though. You’re supposed to shut your Wi-Fi off at night, but I think moving forward we will just set everything to airplane mode being that we do not currently reside in the same building as our router. Again, spending money on things like an EMF blocker for my phone or laptop would be a little too much for me right now, but minimizing exposure is key. So for now, all devices off at night and minimal use during the day.
